"Why You Act The Way You Do" is a book that has taught millions of people around the world, including me, why they do things in certain ways. The teachings in it profoundly and deeply dealt with what your personality and temperament entails, why you react and behave in a particular way. Readers, through this book, have also discovered how temperament affects their work, emotions, spiritual lives and relationships and have also learnt how to make improvements in areas necessary. Temperament, according to Tim Lahaye, is the combination of traits we inherited from our parents which is somewhere in the mind or emotional centre and then combine with other human characteristics to produce our basic makeup. It is a person's temperament that makes him outgoing and extroverted or shy and introverted. The truth behind why people think, talk, relate differently is as a result of their makeup and of which temperament is a major determinant. It helps you to see what makes oth...

PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT WITH READING AS A TOOL

If we take a short walk down man's history, we will notice something very intriguing. There were those that made things happen, those that watched things happen and those that asked, "what happened?" The role of those that make things happen is that of one interested in personal development. Let me give a definition of personal development before we move further. Personal development is a life long process — a way for people to assess their skills, talents and qualities and consider their aim in life and set goals in order to realise, maximize their potential and fully be in tune with their original self. Personal development is not only concerned with acquiring skills here and there but draws more to the process of "becoming." That is, to be transformed into the best version of one's self. It cuts across all facets of our lives and I've learnt that income rarely exceeds personal development. Sometimes, income takes a lucky jump but unless you learn...

HOW TO IMPROVE/GROW YOUR WRITING SKILLS

So, first of all, I want everyone here to know that "writing" is not a waste of time and that choosing to write is choosing to speak for the voiceless. It is a worthy cause but not everyone would appreciate it. People may even look at you like you are wasting your time, but trust me, it is a good cause. Writing has been used to start wars, cause revolutions, etc. Such a powerful tool should not be under estimated. Here are some tips that should be adhered if we want to grow in the craft of writing: 1) For you to grow as a writer, or become better at writing, you must first have a desire to do so. There must be an intense desire to be a better writer, you must watch/read other writers and feel a burning sensation in your chest to grow and write better. I'm not trying to be dramatic when I say there must be a burning sensation in your chest. But then, it's not enough to just desire and dream. Your desire to be a better writer should be able to keep you up on some ...

Your brain actually affects everything that has to do with your body.
