FIGHTING CORRUPTION IS DANGEROUS BY NGOZI OKONJO-IWEALA

Image
Corruption can siphon desperately needed resources away from development, but as some anti-corruption advocates have found, taking on vested interests can come at a great personal risk to their livelihoods—or even their lives. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala’s new book, Fighting Corruption is Dangerous: The Story Behind the Headlines, draws on her years as Nigeria’s Finance Minister to provide practical lessons on the difficult, sometimes dangerous, always-necessary work of fighting graft and corruption. This 173-page book – 8 chapters -  was first published in April 2018. That Nigeria is endowed with enormous potential for greatness is a fact no one can dispute. From rich, vast land and water resources to a perfect climate, everyone seems to agree that Mother Nature was in a good mood when she created Nigeria. What has, however, remained an object of global bewilderment and the subject of sad discourse is why the most populous black nation on earth has not fulfilled its promise. Corrupti

ATTRIBUTES OF GOOD WRITING

Before delving into the topic, it has to be broken down into parts. They are: 1. What is Attribute? 2. What is Good Writing? Here, attribute means quality or characteristic that someone or something has. That is, the characteristic features ascribed to something or someone which brings about uniqueness, appraisal, acceptance and appreciation. Attributes make a piece of writing good,  unique,  and standard. It entails all that is needed to enhance understanding and helps readers to accept and make them read a piece of work. Attributes are the important things that make a work different from others. Now, the big question is: "what is good writing?" This is not an easy question to answer. Good writing is considered as any writing that is of good standard and meets the demands of the prospective reader. Many  different kinds of writing are considered "good" and for many different reasons. There is no formula or program for writing well. However, there are certain

TOPIC:FINDING MY LEADERSHIP SKILLS.

Many  motivational  experts  like to  say  that  leaders  are made,  not  born.  I  would argue  the  exact  opposite.  I  believe  we  are  all  natural  born  leaders,  but  have  been deprogrammed along the way.  As  children,  we were  natural  leaders  - curious  and  humble,  always  hungry  and  thirsty  for  knowledge,  with  an  incredibly  vivid imagination;  we  knew exactly  what  we wanted,  were  persistent  and determined  in  getting  what  we wanted,  and had the ability  to  motivate,  inspire,  and  influence everyone  around  us  to  help  us  in accomplishing our  mission.  So  why  is  this  so  difficult  to  do  as  adults?  What  happened? As  children, over  time, we  got  used  to  hearing, 'No', 'Don't', and 'Can't', 'No! Don't  do  this'.  Don't  do  that'.  'You can't  do  this'.  'You  can't  do  that'.  'No!'. Many  of  our parents  told  us  to keep quiet  a

Why because it's out of the ordinary. So first tip, be creative with your titles whether fiction or nonfiction. Short and Simple Titles: It's safer to make your titles sho

PERSONAL BRANDING

Personal branding is what people can say about you in your absence. It is the picture that pops up in their minds when your name pops up. It is the word that comes readily to their mind when someone asks, who is ' Esther'? Humans judge by the outward appearance because that is what they see, only God...I repeat...God is the one that judges by the heart. So it is very important that we intentionally put on the outside what we have inside. Okay, so you have a beautiful heart, you are smart and intelligent etc. But, no one is going to magically see through your appearance to know that you have all of this inside. What i am saying is this...we should 'intentionally' put outside what we have inside. There are different ways to do this 'intentionally' putting outside what we have inside. It means upgrading your project in order to be outstanding. One way is by our style of clothing. What we would focus on today. So many people make the mistake of

COPYRIGHT PROTECTION FOR LITERARY WORKS

Aside life, property is one of man's most priced possession;mostly because of the mental, physical and sometimes  financial effort expended in acquiring same,Property could be described as anything capable of being owned, it could be copereal or incopereal, tangible or intangible. Therefore the energy and labor required in securing any property makes it worthy to be protected by law and also yield profits for the owner of the property, in other words ,one should reap "the fruits of his labour". Given the description of property, there's no gain saying; *intellectual* *property* adequately fits in,since it's a product of one's creative mind. Intellectual property is the product of one's mental effort, creative exertion  Or better still creative labour,Hence, the laws seeks to guarantee, protect and reward creative efforts. In order to achieve the above, there are several legal means in law namely; copyright Act, trademarks Act, patent and Design Act..

TOPIC:MY VIRTUAL LIFE

Virtual means not in fact or reality!! Since the unset of the world ,it has never been said any where that all men are created differently! In stead we are created equal in the image and likeness of God And in same capacity Mathew 25 vs 14 Image means copy or imitation of a particular item. And likeness having same characteristics of God. This simply tells me that we are gods because we were begotten from him so we simply have the God life which we should express always. Looking at Gods nature we are all he is, he faced same situations we faced today. This means that God thought in the beginning about what to sow in order to reap or produce something. All He was faced with was an empty earth without form and void. Genesis 1vs 1 At this time all he did was to look within ( realm of self discovery) And he knew he was God that anything he calls forth will become power of positive thinking So he spoke. That was what  begot creation today. So as humans we have t

WAITING AND DATING BY MYLES MUNROE

Image
Waiting and Dating is such an enlightening and interesting book. Here are some things i took note of whilst reading the book. So many people ask the question, "when am i ready to date?". Well, you are ready to date when you don't NEED to. You get that? Basically at that point in your life when you regard dating as a matter of choice, rather than necessity...that point when you are complete and happy being single and don't necessary feel like if you don't date you would die,you are ready to date. This book emphasises the need to first be alone, to love and enjoy your singleness,to find purpose, develop your spiritual life and then eventually start dating. The next thing i learnt from this book is that: The purpose of dating is FRIENDSHIP BUILDING Now we have acquaintances, casual friends, close friends and finally "intimate friends". Now we must note that true and intimate friends look out for each other's welfare. It is no longer

THE BELIEVERS AUTHORITY BY Andrew Wommack

Image
The Believer's Authority According to Ephesians 6:10-12,we've to understand that we're in a spiritual warfare and we've to recognize that the enemy;the devil is doing all he can to defeat us from our purpose or from fulfilling destiny. Whom He may devour; When you yield yourself to sin, you're serving Satan, who is the author of that sin. But when you yield yourself to obedience, you serve God, who is the author of that righteousness[Romans 6:16].. In this spiritual battle, your actions are very important... There's much more to life than just this physical, natural, surface level. Spiritual dynamics are constantly taking place. Whether or not the person you're speaking evil about ever knows it, you'll be affected. Venting anger, frustration, resentment, or unforgiveness affects you whether it affects anyone else or not. The wrath of Man James 1:20 says, "The wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God." In oth

HOW SUCCESSFUL PEOPLE THINK BY JOHN.C.MAXWELL

Image
Good thinkers are always in demand.A person who knows how may always have a job,but the person who knows why will always be the boss,so the truth remains steadfast that whatever you want to achieve in life, and the area you which to explore and add the extra to your normal ordinary life you have now to become that singular and wonderful person that people would want to emulate and envy in what you do, in your quest for success, you've got to start thinking the way the ancestors, grandfather's and fathers of those divers accomplishments thought. Is always quite easy and very good for us to anticipate, dream but beyond that you have to follow and model what these people did and are still doing that has actually made them to be outstanding in their field of influence How successful people think is a book that will not only remind you that thinking is an indispensable part of us like in the words of Oyedipo when he was asked by the New York times about what he does with his

TITLES AND BODY

Yeah I know the topic sounds a bit weird but you'll later find out why I chose it. So let's do this! I know most of us have heard the saying, "never judge a book by it's cover". Believe it or not, a book is judged by it's title more than it's cover! Yes I just said that! Think about it, what first attracts you to a book? It's colour, size, designs, author or title? Trust me, 80% of the time, you are first attracted or curious about the title before ever opening it to read. So this draws a conclusion that the title of a write up is as important as the information hidden between the lines of words in that write up. Knowing this, you know better than to just settle for any title. You need to spend time thinking about the title just the same way you brood about the message you are about to pass through your work. So first thing to note is, titles are very important, choosing a catchy title that compliments your write up is a terrific comb
