TOPIC:WHAT TO DO WHEN YOU GET TIRED OF WRITING.

Taught by: Debola Adekanye:A writer and a blogger.

I believe most of us are writers, yes or no? Maybe we are not all professionals,  but I believe we all are a work in progress. In our present world, it will  be very rare to be in a gathering of learned people and call upon, and find none. They may not all be professionals like I said earlier ,  in short they may all be amateurs,  but no matter what,  there must be a person that writes.
Do you agree with me?

Now the reason why Many people write differs,  however the end product is always  the same,  it is either to pass across a message or express a thought.

Although many have gone farther to make it as a source of income,  while for some  or few,  writing is just an opening to express their passion,  their truth,  their depth.

Which group do you belong to?
They(those that write not as a source of income) are under no pressure to keep writing,  but they do it regardless; I happen to be one of those few who write just for the love of it.
However, recently, I have been quite laid-back  and nonchalant about the need to write and it becomes more difficult(to get into the act) by the day,  and trust me this has nothing to do with lack of inspiration, stress or other engagement and involvement, and I know many of us face these kind of situations once in a while.

So I have been able to  combine a few helpful tips on how to  get out of that zone or mode when you get tired of writing.

I would give a few points,  other suggestions are welcome:

1.Go back to previous work you have written(done):this is a good catalyst  to awaken a tired writer.when you go back to your write ups you  feel a sense of achievement at how far you have come,  you notice what kind of Writer you  were and how much change has occurred,  you recall memories and inspiration behind those works, you may even be very impressed by your own work.

2.Take a break:No matter how discouraging this sounds,  sometimes a break is needed, don't force things to  happen,  you could just divert a little and listen to some edifying and inspiring songs,  you could see a movie,  you could  go to exercise,  anything,  as long as its not writing.  You would find yourself feeling refreshed after this break is over. But please don't break off for too long, you may lose your touch and we wouldn't want that to happen,  would we?

3.Think of the people that are inspired or influenced by your writeup: whether you believe it or not every Writer has their own fan,  for some writers  maybe the whole world,  for some maybe just your friends and teachers,  and for some just your Daddy and Mummy, regardless  of how many we influence, we do not want to disappoint this people,if they trust us enough to believe in our write up,  I believe we should respect  them enough to keep writing.

4.Jot down all thought or ideas that come to mind:you don't necessarily have to develop it immediately, just put it down so that when you really need to write you have many options to fall back on.

   Other points include:

5.Read others work, review it and appraise it.

6.sleep: When you feel tired,  please sleep.  Don't make writing  a burden on yourself,  enjoy it.

Lastly:

7. Never leave your source of inspiration: Don't run away from whatever inspires you. For many lack of inspiration makes them really tired,  so please do well to stick to your person,  your style and your inspiration. While for those of us that write for money, I believe the need to meet target and make more money  is enough drive to leave the 'tired writers zone'

If you have other suggestions on what we can do as writers  when we get tired of writing,  please do well to share it with us,  let us learn from you also through the comment opening beneath.
