HOW VALUABLE ARE YOU?

In this part of the world, using questions to answer questions is not a common place thing, hence it becomes inappropriate. However, we're going to be kicking off with some really  mind challenging questions which may not provide an answer to our topic, but will however stir up and give birth to myriads of thought patterns down the rivers of your heart that may somewhat provide answer(s) to this topic  "HOW VALUABLE YOU ARE?" This  indeed is a fascinating but incredibly difficult question.
Ponder on these questions:
*What's your worth?
*If you had to put a price tag on your life- what would it be?; Where would you even start?
*How does one define the value of an individual?
*What qualities do you possess that you believe contributes to your value?
A lot of thoughts may be running through your mind right now.
While providing meaningful answers to these questions, I am going to try as much as I can to come from both the Kingdom and  General perspective.

KINGDOM PERSPECTIVE Another striking question :
How valuable are you anyway? Are you worth your weight in diamonds or rubies? Or even gari or rice ?
Scores of people today feel that their worth ain't even that of a straw.
They struggle with feelings of worthlessness and inadequacies, completely overwhelmed by their inferiority, and the more they think about it the more the situation becomes.
God feeds birds and you are far  more valuable to Him than any birds! Luke 12:34 NLT
"An article in the journal of Hospital Practice calculated how much each of the enzymes and hormones and all the different things in your body are worth, and for an average body sized person - you're worth Six Million, fifteen dollars and fourty cents ($6,000,015.40),and that's based on your weight.- (some of us are worth more).smiles".
"The author also estimated the cost of creating each cell in your body and said it would be about Six trillion dollars $6,000,000,000,000".
FORBES' List of 400 richest/wealthiest men In the world as at 2018 this year sums up to 2.7 Trillion US dollars...that ain't even up to half of the estimated cost of creation of you who's reading this article right now.So, my people, with certainty and without missing words, That goes a long way to show that you're priceless. That it took  Jesus the whole of Luke 15 to talk about it.
He expressed how valuable we are by telling us 3 stories about something which was lost and then recovered. " a sheep, a coin, and a son".
100 sheep, one lost...;
10 coins, one lost...;
2 sons, 1 astray...;
His story varied in value:- A sheep is of little value compared to a silver coin, a silver coin is of little value compared to the life of a son.
As John Newton wrote: "I was lost but now am found, was blind, but now I see."
There's help for thine failures, hope for thine despair. I suggest you read these 3 accounts in Luke 15 and recognize the value of your worth.
1st Corinthians  7...you've been bought and paid for by Christ.God says you're accepted. You're valuable, but how much does  that make you worth? Not your net worth, but your self worth?
Never confuse your valuables with  your value as a person.
Actually two(2) things determine value in life.

i. It depends on what someone is willing to pay for it:
How much is your house worth, your phone, laptop?
Not as much as you think it is, and probably not  as much as it was a year ago. These items are worth what somebody is willing to pay for them. No more!
To some of you,a wrist watch may have a zero worth of value, but some people are willing to pay 150k for it.Same for an art work.

2. It Depends on who owned it in the past:
For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost Luke 19:10. Jesus owned us.He came to reposses, redeem and recolonize US and He put His life on the line. That's all God's got (His only begotten Son).
Sometimes something is valuable because of who used to own it. I heard about a pair of stinking smelling, worn-out basketball shoes that sold for seven thousand dollars at an auction because they belonged to Michael Jordan
Based on these two things;what's your value? Ask yourself, "who owns me?","what was paid for me"?

Remember, it cost Jesus everything He had to buy you back to Himself. Though He was Lord of the entire universe, He laid it all aside and died in absolute poverty. He owned nothing. The robe and the tomb in which He was buried were both borrowed. “Though He was rich, yet for your sakes He became poor, that you through His poverty might become rich.” 2 Corinthians 8:9.

Perhaps you have never seen yourself as important. You have a poor self-image. You may look back on a life of pain and disappointment: a deprived and unhappy childhood, a marriage that ended in divorce, or a career that never materialized, or years wasted on drugs and alcohol. Your past and your future both convey the same message: FAILURE!
Not to Jesus! He loved you so much that He gave up everything to redeem you for Himself. Repeat the beautiful words of the Apostle Paul, make them your own: “He loved me and gave Himself for me.” Say it again, “He loved me and gave Himself for me.” And again, “He loved me and gave Himself for me.”
Now see your VALUE !

Read 1st Corinthians 7:23: bought with a price...you belong to Jesus.
How much does  that make you worth?
Now ask yourself ..."who do I belong to?"
Jesus...that man? He didn't die for no junk? Nobody has ever paid a greater  price than God paid for you. You belong to Him.
Don't get it twisted brother; don't sister: YOU'RE VALUABLE!
This world sometimes leaves us feeling kicked, empty, and wondering if it’s all worth it—or if we are worth it. But God leaves no doubt of the tremendous value He places on every human life, including yours. That's for the KINGDOM answer to our topic... Read His promises...after which I'll proceed to hit it on the GENERAL like I alluded from the onstart. So there you go with His promises lavished all on you.(nos. 1-10).

1) “So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them” ( Genesis 1:27 ).
Your value begins with the fact that you are made by the hand of the Creator in His very image.
2) “Can a woman forget her nursing child, and not have compassion on the son of her womb? Surely they may forget, yet I will not forget you” (Isaiah 49:15 ). Even if you are forsaken by family and friends, you are always cherished in the heart of God.
3) “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope” (Jeremiah 29:11 ). God’s thoughts toward you are wonderful, and He has great plans for your life!
4) “Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore with lovingkindness I have drawn you” ( Jeremiah 31:3 ). His love for you is relentless, immeasurable, and infinite.
5) “But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us” ( Romans 5:8 ). The Creator of life loves you so intensely that He allowed His own Son to die in your place before you ever repented.
6) “Knowing that you were not redeemed with corruptible things, like silver or gold, but with the precious blood of Christ” (1 Peter 1:18;19). God was willing to pay the highest price in the universe to redeem you—the blood of His dear Son.
7) “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new” ( 2 Corinthians 5:17 ). If you belong to Jesus, you have a brand new, sparkling-clean life in Him.
8) “Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God!” (1 John 3:1 ). God actually considers you His very own precious child.
9) “But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ, that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus” ( Ephesians 2:4–7 ). Your heavenly Father has planned a magnificent, never-ending future for you.
10) “Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us” (2 Corinthians 5:20 ). God has given you a high calling as an ambassador to share His great love with others.

You belong to God, and as long as you cling to Him, no one can take that from you. His Word overwhelmingly confirms that you are His cherished treasure!

Nonetheless, let's also hammered our discussion from the GENERAL view/perspective.
So am going to be doing that briefly so as to give us, at least a holistic view of our topic of discussion: "HOW VALUABLE  YOU ARE!?"
"People would rather be shown how valuable you are, not told."- Roger W. Babson
For this part I'll drive through by telling us a little 'story'.
There lived 2 people. Now this story has been used to define the value we place on ourselves as humans and how willing and how far we are able to cultivate that worth inside of us.
One achieved success and the other one, well, they did not accomplish what they often talked about.
Both of these individuals were the same age, and approximate intelligence. Both wanted to progress in their careers, they wanted to climb the ladder of success.
Now here's the major difference between these people:
One just talked and complained about not getting ahead while other person took the initiative by taking courses, finding solutions, keeping their attitude positive no matter what the situation. The successful person did not have it easy, they ran into setbacks and challenges but it did not stop them from moving ahead with their plans. Sometimes it was just a baby step they were able to take. But one step after another, consistently and over a period of time they realized success.
10 years down the line something happened.I am pretty sure you would make a good guess here:
The person who talked and complained is still talking and complaining and still remains in the same position. It is like hearing a broken record when you listen to this person. Same issues, same complaints and same dreams and same "no action." The person who took the initiative and focus their time on finding solutions has been promoted several times.
Guys? What you have accomplished in the past is a much stronger example than talking about what you are capable of doing in the future.
I am pretty sure that You probably know people just like the story above. Many of these people may be part of your own family, or friends, or colleagues or acquaintances. Sometimes, it is a matter of helping them with what they seek to achieve while other times it doesn't seem to matter what you do or say.
And to make the whole thing crazy...I am almost likened to the guy who always talks about getting things done...but make tiny complaints too.
So am actually teaching my self right now.
Now, if you are one of those individuals who desire to achieve something but do more talking about what you might do as opposed to actually taking action, there are a few things for you to consider doing.
Now you need to ask yourself a very strong question...
"A SERIOUS QUESTION "

The first thing to consider is asking yourself a serious question and that question is..."how badly do you really want your desire to come to reality?"
If your answer is really only one where you think about achieving your dream but really do not want to go the extra mile, or have a burning and absolute desire, then you do not want it badly enough to mend your ways.
On the other hand if you want your desire so badly that it is all you ever think about, then you have an opportunity . This opportunity must be set into motion or you will end up just like everybody else whom only talks but takes no action. Do it now for there is no better time to get into motion than the present.
Because as the saying goes...
"Action does speak louder than words!"
The value in you many a time...is only potential, tis just lying in there dormant. You need to take action into cultivating and harnessing it.By so doing, you Will  give and add value to Your community, family etc, which are actually the tenets for measuring your value;being society-useful rather than being society-useless and religiously enthusiastic.
This topic is really fascinating but incredibly difficult question. I feel like it’s really two questions:
1. How does one define the value of an individual?
2. What qualities do you possess that you believe contribute to your value?
To the first part, I think we can identify a few common areas of value. One such area is your community. While the size of what you consider to be your community is subjectively determined by which aspect of your life you’re considering (for example, I’m a blogger , a writer, and a _spoken word_ person) it’s fairly easy to assess your level of contribution to that group.
Another area is family, and again it depends on what size you’re using for assessment — within my nuclear family. I have high value, whereas for my extended family I have comparatively lower value.
In addition, you could consider your profession...you know, career kind,or field as a separate area of value, but moving forward I’ll be diving into the “community” thing.
So how do we assign value? You could consider how much your opinion matters, how often you shape decision-making in your social sphere, your level of contribution to your family and community’s well-being, your ability to direct other people’s effort.Basically, how much you influence the people around you in a given setting, or how much they know and respect you.
I think that actually might be the key: RESPECT.
You could compare how much your presence and ideas are respected in a community or in your family against how often you’re challenged or ignored. I think that gives you a pretty clear idea about your value in that particular aspect of your life.
So to summarize this maybe-overly-long answer, your value is relative to your various communities, and relative again to how far your influence in each community extends. Always remember that you have high value to the people who are immediately around you.Though for Jesus He was not known in His home town.
But let me again say something about Monetary Value because if i don't then I have not really landed.
I toyed with the idea of including monetary value — either how much you make or how much you have saved — in the section about assessing your value, but I ultimately decided against it. First of all, because how much money you have is largely irrelevant to your ability to make an impact in your community (unless donating money to the community is your way of making an impact), and second, because income and savings can be negatively affected by decisions that increase your social value.
For example, if you’re supporting a family member in need, you’re dramatically increasing your value in your community while possibly reducing your income or savings.Even if u're paying off a loan to a lending facility;maybe a bank, then you’re essentially paying off an investment in your ability to impact your community for the better.
So while somebody could make an argument that your salary or savings somehow reflects your value, I would say it’s a qualified reflection at best and far more likely to not be an accurate reflection of social value.
Going to leave us with these quotes (nos. 1-11).
Please do well to read them. They will cause a SPARK right inside of you.
